WWJND

In decades past it was popular for Christians to consider WWJD - "What would Jesus do?"

I always thought the bracelets were a little hokey, but the question was excellent.

I don't remember anyone ever asking WWJND - "What would Jesus not do?"

If you can't picture Jesus doing what you are currently doing, saying what you are currently saying, or even thinking what you are currently thinking, it would be wise to put the brakes on.

For instance, try to imagine Jesus being involved in gossip. Can you picture Jesus looking over his shoulder to make sure Peter doesn't walk up unexpectedly as He is telling James and John in a secluded corner of the boat how shocked he was at Peter's lack of faith? And then Jesus doing an impression of the stupid look on Peter's face as he sank into the waves? And the three of them laughing only to quickly change the subject when Peter walks up?

Nope. Can't picture it. So there's one answer to WWJND - "gossip".

Some others: Jesus would not slander, lie, avoid work, cut corners, covet, complain, or look at porn.

And yet, WE do these things. And pretend like they are no big deal.

Stop doing what Jesus would not do.
